Double cleansing for infinite future treatments: the Oway agricosmetic ritual

It is commonly thought that skincare is only necessary for makeup removal, but this is merely a myth. Cleansing is essential to remove various residues from the skin, such as smog. If done twice, like the Korean method, even better!

Often, facial cleansing is reduced to a mere gesture of make-up removal—a hurried and distracted evening ritual to face the night without too much guilt.

Let’s start with a fact: for the skin to be ready to welcome future treatments, it needs deep cleansing. Awakening it at the start of the day and freeing it in the evening from accumulated impurities paves the way for long-term benefits.

The first step in caring for clean, bright, and healthy skin is cleansing. But amidst our hectic days, when should we remember to do it? How often? And in which steps? There is a method well-known to many—if not all—called double cleansing.

What is double cleansing? The importance of keeping skin clean

Trend or not, double cleansing has become a part of many people's routines. This true ritual -inspired by the famous Korean skincare routine and, above all, the Japanese art of removing the elaborate white makeup that geishas applied daily - helps to work deeply, beneath the skin's surface layer.

Double cleansing involves two phases: the oil-based phase, which removes makeup and impurities, and the water-based phase, which washes away all skin impurities using water-based products.

In the end, the balance of the body and the appearance of the skin mirror each other: what shines on the surface can only be a reflection of the well-being that has penetrated deeply day by day.

Prickly Pear: Origin, Myths, and Frontiers… Including the Virtuous Upcycling

Every season brings with it a fruit that distinguishes it, with precise imagery, memories, and olfactory atmospheres intertwined. The Prickly Pear has the extraordinary power to evoke summer, with its fruits ripening between 20°C and 30°C, so familiar in the Mediterranean landscapes of Southern Italy.

Some myths? Firstly, its origin: the Prickly Pear is native to Mexico and was only brought to Europe after the 19th century. Legend has it that it was a poisonous plant brought by the Turks to Sicily to destroy the Sicilian people. Fortunately, its fruits turned out to be very sweet and rich in miraculous properties, and the attempt failed.

The pads, or leaves, of the prickly pear have a fibrous composition rich in polysaccharides, with antioxidant and re-epithelizing power, similar (and even superior) to that of Hyaluronic Acid. These molecules also have a protective function that fights inflammation, leaving the skin hydrated and healthy.

Thanks to upcycling, what is usually considered waste becomes a new resource - a true agricosmetic ingredient, with new possibilities of value.

Double cleansing according to Oway: introducing the Cleanse Line

In Oway's new Cleanse line, we have chosen to rewrite the story of this precious resource, transforming the pads into the main ingredient: a true reservoir of valuable plant-based phyto-actives.

The collection is suitable for all skin types and allows for a personalized cleansing routine with high professional performance.

The new Oway Skincare formula includes two versatile solutions that transcend traditional skin type differences, purifying without irritating and preparing the skin for the next steps of the daily routine.

A multi-step ritual that begins with a transforming texture facial and eye makeup remover that removes all types of makeup, including waterproof ones. For double cleansing, a personalized journey depending on your skin's tendency—dry, combination, or impure. Finally, to close, an agricosmetic step that provides a sensation of freshness and radiance, hydrating and protecting the skin.
